wow…and people say that WE have low journalistic standards.

sue simmons from WNBC apparently thought she was talking to lebron james’ mom last night when she asked co-anchor chuck scarbrough, “what the fuck are you doing”, on the air.

why do journalists curse? some…like simmons probably due for humorous effect. breaking tension with an f-bomb is a time-honored tradition in newsrooms (and executive suites) everywhere.

we at flatusyahu do it for a different reason: we simply don’t know enough REAL WORDS.

that’s right…somewhere, somehow….what all those teachers were trying to…uhh….teach us….simply didn’t sink in.

so….where most educated people might say, “Andy Reid continues to annoy a perplexed fan base with his unusual draft-day maneuvering”, we would probably say:

“Andy Reid is a stupid fucking fat bastard.”

we’re not alone, though. the staff at flatusyahu are not the only people who slept through years of english class.

it’s a well-known fact that 87% of people in the greater boston area have a vocabulary that is limited to the names of all past and current red sox and celtics players plus nine additional words (fuck, suck, wicked, cahr (car), bahr (bar), ginormous, celts, sox, chowda (chowder) and big dig). hence the common use of “bill fucking buckner”. (which, of course, has been replaced by “we’re fucking titletown, baby”)

It’s not that we…and others like us…..don’t want to use better words….it’s simply that we don’t have the ability to do so.
