uhhh.  yeah.  this is a really strange one. even for us phillies fans. and we’re pretty sure we’re the first with video on this.

we were watching the phils play the d-backs on friday night when we thought we saw jimmy rollins salute a shane victorino triple with a full bottle of beefeaters gin…right there on the dugout steps.

if only it were that benign.

it turns out that rollins was hoisting a bottle of j&j BABY OIL in salute of victorino’s game-tying triple!!!  wtf?  according to our favorite phillies site, thefightins:

“After Shane Victorino tripled in the tying runs yesterday off D-Back reliever Tony Peña, Comcast cameras cut to a shot of Jimmy Rollins saluting the lightning-fast Hawaiian with what seems to be a bottle of Johnson’s® Baby Oil.  Sarge Matthews quickly stormed the broadcast booth and alerted Chris Wheeler that hitting coach Milt Thompson put it on the bench prior to the game to “loosen the team up.”
